With the new year comes new Hyundai models. Hyundai has made great strides in recent years to increase the luxury, efficiency and technology available inside its vehicles. Its sedan lineup is second-to-none, providing great fuel efficiency and driver assistance features. Hyundai has shown its SUV lineup ample attention as well, releasing new vehicles and substantially upgrading the classics.

With a new lineup of Hyundai vehicles arriving at Chris Crain Hyundai, we thought it’d be a good idea to break down what’s changing with the Hyundai lineup in the new year. Hyundai has added a few new vehicles to its lineup. They’ve also released a few redesigns and new trims to existing models. Without further ado, let’s take a look at what’s new in 2022.

Hyundai’s New Pickup Truck: 2022 Santa Cruz

Perhaps the most exciting addition to Hyundai’s vehicle lineup is the Hyundai Santa Cruz. The Santa Cruz is a sports adventure vehicle, offering great off-road capability and a truck bed for added versatility. It’s the perfect choice for those who love the outdoors or are on the move. While the Santa Cruz is a compact pickup model, it still offers a good deal of power with a 5,000-pound towing capacity. While Hyundai’s focus is still on sedans and SUVs, its foray into the truck market is a good thing.

New All-Electric SUV: 2022 Ioniq 5

Hyundai’s electric vehicle, the Ioniq, has been around for a few years, but 2022 brings the first edition of a Hyundai electric SUV. The Ioniq 5 features solid electric range (500 miles) and it charges quickly, with a 800-volt charging port that will bring the vehicle to an 80% charge in just 18 minutes. The SUV is like most other electric vehicles in that it offers great power and acceleration. It also features a high-tech interior with some pretty spectacular driver assistance features. The 2022 Ioniq 5 is the first in what is sure to be an exciting future of electric Hyundai SUVs.

Redesigned SUVs: 2022 Tucson and 2022 Kona

One of the more exciting things about the new year is getting the opportunity to see which vehicles receive a redesign. This year, Hyundai has chosen to offer a redesign of two of its compact SUVs: the Tucson and the Kona. The Tucson is Hyundai’s best-selling vehicle. The 2022 Tucson model is longer and wider than before, and it is full of the latest technology and driver assistance features.

The Kona, on the other hand, is one of Hyundai’s smallest SUVs. Its 2022 redesign makes it a bit larger, increasing just 1.6 inches in length but offering lots more interior space for passengers and cargo. The Kona also receives a technology update in its interior.
