Five Spring Maintenance Tips

Spring is finally upon us. With warmer temperatures, rainy days, blooming flowers and the hope of a warm summer, spring is one of our favorite times of the year. It reminds us of new beginnings, and it encourages us to strive for an even better year than our previous one. Part of those new beginnings is organization and cleaning. As your local Central Arkansas car dealership, we wanted to send some reminders your way to help you better maintain your car as you look to clean up a bit this spring. Below are five helpful reminders:

1. Get Your Regular Oil Change
It might seem rather ordinary, but we wanted to remind you to keep up your regular car maintenance (just in case you’d forgotten). It is vital that you get an oil change every 5,000 miles (or as recommended by your manufacturer). 2. Check Tire Tread and Rotate Tires
Your car is only as reliable as your tires. After a winter like we had, it’s important to check the tread of your tires to see if you need a replacement. Additionally, it’s important to rotate your tires every 10,000 miles to make sure that they will last for as long as possible.

3. Check Your Battery
The cold winter weather makes  your battery run overtime. Be sure to check your battery levels this spring. The last thing you want is a dead battery when you’re in a rush and need to go somewhere. If your battery levels are low, simply buy a replacement and be on your way!

4. Replace Your Wiper Blades and Refill Your Wiper Fluid
Perhaps with all the spring rain, you’ve noticed that your windshield wipers are not as effective as they used to be. An easy fix to this problem is replacing your wiper blades. Additionally, check your wiper fluid to make sure you can wipe the bugs off your windshield during your summer road trips.

5. Wash Your Car Regularly
While it may seem like a mere cosmetic improvement, regular car washes are an important part of caring for your vehicle. Especially in the springtime, when pollen and tree sap can cover your vehicle in gunk, it is important to scrub down the car and get those foreign substances off the paint. Regular car washes maintain the car’s paint and keeps the exterior from corroding. This small act allows your car to maintain value in the long run.
