This significant recognition means that all seven vehicles scored at least “good” ratings in all six of the IIHS’ crashworthiness tests — driver- and passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraints. Top safety pick award winners must also score either “superior” or “advanced” in front crash prevention technology, which prevents crashes with both pedestrians and other vehicles, and be equipped with either “good” or “acceptable” headlights.

Hyundai’s 2021 lineup, of course, features strong structural features which work to protect drivers in the case of an accident.
